PROUDLY MADE IN AMERICA

Made in America for over 100 years, Hughes Brothers products are manufactured from the highest quality raw materials and are proven to stand the test of time. We are most known for our manufactured wood framing, but many of our H-frame products have been adapted and engineered to be made of steel. We have done structural steel H-frames up to 345kV.

Over 75% of the product shipped nationwide is steel, manufactured in our versatile and ever-expanding factory. By keeping our production local, we can ensure the quality craftsmanship our customers have come to expect. Quality products are forged daily with Hughes Brothers.

Storm Restoration Kits

It's always a priority for electric utilities to recover quickly from any natural disaster. Hughes Brothers is your storm recovery go-to partner. The employees at Hughes Brothers take great pride in getting parts out the door in hurricanes, ice storms, or any unforeseen disaster. As a Nebraska company, we know what it's like to be without power in extreme cold or heat. Our storm response has no equal.

We maintain inventory and mobilize quickly to help utilities regain power. One way to help our customers do this is through our bundled structure kits. A utility can keep a few of these on hand, knowing that when they pick one up, it will include everything they need to re-build a steel or wood H-frame. All components are banded together into one easy-to-inventory item.

Yoke Plates

Hughes Brothers Yoke Plate Cross Reference Guide

Mergers and acquisitions have made it difficult for utilities and consultants to find a source for material that was written into their standards years or even decades ago. Companies change names, then maybe even change the part number of an item everyone once knew. We are trying to make that easier here with our yoke plate cross-reference guide. If you do not see what you need in this document, please email or call us. We hope we can find it. Hughes Brothers; not changing part numbers for the last 102 years for a reason.

recycling

Recycling

Committed to responsible and ethical business practices, Hughes Brothers understands the importance and value of recycling. Steel scraps are sent to a local steel mill to be melted down and rolled back into various structural shapes, many to be used by our very own facility in an endless recycling loop. Wood that doesn’t meet our specifications is reclaimed into pallets, boxes, and shipping material or is chipped and pressed into briquettes to heat the factory during our cold Nebraska winters.

Our lumber suppliers utilize tree-farmed logs from companies that plant seven times as many trees as they harvest. Our pressure-treating facility increases the life span of our wood products from a few years to several decades, or in some cases even indefinitely, thus reducing the need to cut down trees.
